When you’re assigned an illustration design project to make a movie poster for an Oscar-nominated movie, you pick Coraline. I took inspiration from the Other World’s portal’s deep and glowing colors. With that as the background, I replicated the opening of the film where the Coraline doll is stitched up and floats out the window. Not straying too far from the handwritten style of the original, I hand lettered the title and spiraled quote.
